My research progress will be updated when I can (last edited Aug 5th /08): I
am working on my practiced-based PhD at
the University of East London (UK), in the SMARTlab
Digital Arts Centre PhD program (started
fall 2006), researching “liveness
in networked performance as experienced using mobile devices”, and
biosensors, mobile phone media to create collaborative,
networked VJ performances for my project. i:. May 2008 - Recent video overview of my research:

BBC Project: Embodiment Theory & User Interface Devices
.............. I am interested in the new “happenings” of the networked performance, mobile media, and how locative and mobile activities / games are changing our perception of performance. I'm interested in the sense of play and collaboration that is instilled in both the performers and the users/audience, or even the users/audience as the performers, and the perceptual shift in the concept of “live”. These are live performance events that can be publicized through a website or cell phone, eliciting instant crowd response (Flash Mobs) or only involving the performer and the user. |
I try to keep up on my writing (last edited Aug 5th/i i 08): 1) Three journal papers in the works for the International Journal of Performance and Digital Art, a collaborative article with Kasia Molga and Max Schleser for the International Journal of Media Practice, and Brunel University's School of Arts, postgraduate Perfomance Studies' online journal Body, Space and Technology for Fall 2008/Spring 2009.
**2) FilMobile Conference and Exhibition: Embodied Presence in Mobile Media Performance, University of Westminster, London, England, April 5, 2008.
