projects + activities |
I
have diverse visual and performing arts background working in video
production, web design, new media development, DVD creation, and media
art installation, owning, operating and curating performance media
and visual arts exhibitions; creating pottery and ceramics; as well
as in modern dance, music composition and performance, with some drawing
and photography.
In the last two years, I have been involved in: starting and developing
my own performance media society, The Escape Artists Society (www.escapeartists.ca)
with several performance events in 2005 and 2006 and producing a
digital media performance event for the Surrey Art Centre in
2005.
From 2002-2004 I worked with the New Forms Festival (www.newformsfestival.com),
as the primary Event Producer / Interactive and Performance Curator
in 2004, the Lead Curator / Conference Director in 2003,
and as the Visuals Coordinator in 2002, responsible for numerous events
over the duration of each festival. As such, I worked with and coordinated
artists and staff, developed digital art curation techniques on-the-job,
learned hands-on exhibition/ event production and staging issues, was
responsible for arts grant-writing and administration, as well as research
of the on-going developments in new media-based art and performance,
and media art / performance history.
Currently,
I am the Executive Director of
The
Escape Artists Society (TEAS), and we're working on various
Networked Performance
events - check our website(link above) for updates and
